WOODEN FURNITURES MAINTENANCE
With proper maintenance, wooden furnitures goes a long way. Teak are high in density and oil content, making it low to maintain and resistent to termites, but there are still few pointers to take note of, namely the 4 Cares below. To truly appreciate the natural beauty of teak wood, our furnitures are coated with a thin layer of water repellant coat, this application retains the teak natural shade and doesn’t conceal the pores so that natural oils can rise to the surface to upkeep the table itself, naturally.
General Care
| Use tablemats and coasters under hot pots/ pans to prevent white stain caused by the burn and also on cold glasses/ bottles to prevent water stains caused by the collection of condensation.
| Clear any spills immediately to prevent the penetration of stains, permanently.
| Clean wood surafce in the direction of the wood grain.
| Due to its oil content, teak wood will turn darker over time and with maintenance. To prevent uneven discolouration, always clean furnitures as a whole and not parts of it and change the decorative placement on the furnitures occasionally.
| While exposed to weathering, teak wood will fade and turn greyish. To prevent discolouration, always clear off rainwater immediately and shield furnitures with canvas during the day or when you will be away for long period of time.
Daily Care
| Dust furnitures regularly with feather duster or microfiber cloth.
| Clear spills with cloth and wipe furniture evenly.
| Clear coloured spills with cloth or sponge sucking up the spill first and wipe furniture evenly.
| Clear oil spills with cloth or sponge sucking up the spill first and mix non concentrated, natural soap with water to wipe furniture evenly.
| Regular cleaning of furnitures will help built up a shield, reducing future stains.
Preventive Care
| Do not place and cover a plastic sheet or glass over the furnitures.
| Do not stand or sit onto the tables
Future Care
Over the years with normal usage and natural aging, wooden furnitures will inevitably suffered some stains and scars her and there, just like us humans. These are natural and beautiful process of nature. As the furnitures aged naturally, it shows more characteristics of the wood itself and tells a story about the owner. Just like how the stains and scars bring back memories and moments of the good times that we spent on the furniture pieces. Do not worry about these and over protect the furnitures, if not that will defeat the primary purpose or usage of the furniture which is the serve you for your needs and not the other way round.
When the furnitures are heavily stained or scarred, do contact us for an appointment to have your furnitures serviced. Servicing such as sanding down of the surface will get rid of light stains and scars, transforming the furnitures new and fresh again. While waxing, restaining, revarnishing and recoating of water repellant application re-protect the surfaces from normal usage. We uses the Teak Shield from Belgium that is a professional kit and heavy duty, you cant get it off the shelf in Singapore.
FABRICS, UPHOLSTERY AND SOFT FURNISHINGS MAINTENANCE
With proper maintenance, furnitures goes a long way. Fabrics maintenance varies greatly with the composition. If you care for your furnitures they will be there with you as long as you enjoy their companionship.

General Care
| Look for the washing symbols.
| Clear any spills immediately to prevent the penetration of stains, permanently.
| Clean in one direction.
| Suck out stains or coloured liquids before cleaning
| Rule of thumb: dry-cleaning, for all of our fabrics. Frequency: twice yearly or yearly
| For machine wash, do turn the covers inside out, put into laundry bag and delicate spin. Frequency: twice yearly or yearly
| For drying, DO NOT spin dry inside the washing machine but instead hang/ sun dry naturally, this will maintain the shape of the cover
| For the lazy ones, exposing the fabrics under sunlight is good as well. Put the covers into a black bag, tie it up, and let it under sunlight. This will kill bacterial and get rid of odours

| Do not cover soft furnishings with rags or throws as static and friction will cause lint/ hairball to form
| Avoid exposing to strong sunlight over time
| Avoid washing with others laundry or mixing colours
| When in doubt just talk to us or take advise from the cleaning company

When the fabrics are heavily stained or damaged, do contact us for an appointment to have your furnitures re-upholstery in a brand new set of covers. For inner material, we do replacement of spare parts as well, as our wooden frame structure are made to last. Just like replacement of individual spare parts, covers are available in individual pieces or set.
METALS MAINTENANCE
The metals used in our furnitures are of high durability and quality, however, dust and particles may react with the surface over time and cause dullness or forming a reaction. It is important to dust regularly and refrain from using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on your metal surfaces, as they may damage the finishing. Chrome or steel frames may rust if they are exposed to excessive humidity and high salt content, therefore, we suggest occasionally cleaning with a microfibre cloth and a suitable protective polish that are available at most hardware stores.
RATTAN & BAMBOO MAINTENANCE
The rattan and bamboo used in our furnitures are natural and of high durability and quality, however, dust and particles may form on the surface over time and cause dullness or forming a reaction. It is important to dust regularly and refrain from using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the surfaces, as they may damage the finishing. Do not expose to fully outdoor conditions such as in contact with direct sunlight and rainwater over long period of time as it will damage the structure of the natural material.
